Xbee adapter kit and raspberry pi 2

Post by andresreichardt »

Hello,

I recently purchased a raspberry pi 2. I am building a project tha requires wireless communication.
I previously used your Xbee adapter kit with 5v arduinos.
I am worried if the adapter will work/safe to use with the raspberry pi 2 gpio.
If not, what do you reccomend i use.
Thanks

The adapter will work. The primary purpose of the adapter is to shift the 5v from Arduino down to 3.3v for the XBee. It does not shift the output of the XBee back up.

However, since both the XBee and the Pi are 3.3v devices, the adapter is not strictly necessary.
