si5351-clock-generator with Raspberry Pi Zero

Post by earth1 »

Hello All.

I am hoping to build a project that will allow me to control the si5351-clock-generator from a Raspberry Pi Zero. The ouput frequency will be specified by software in the Pi, and the clock output will be heterodyned (mixed) with another frequency to get a specific output frequency. The software on the Pi will make calculations based on the frequency that it has set the clock to, measure results, and make corrections on the fly. My question, is whether controling the si5351-clock-generator from a Pi Zero can be done, or is even practical. If so, does anyone here know of any other project or anyone doing a project that controls this clock gen from a Pi and could point me in their direction?

Thanks in advance,
Donald Butler
