6-digit 7 segment clock

Post by Buckaroosan »

I see that you all have kits for 4 digit clocks but I am looking to create the countdown clock from the movie Escape from New York. I figured I could actually make it a working watch though. http://images.static-bluray.com/reviews/3129_4.jpg Any help in choosing the right components to do this? Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Thank you for any help.

Mainly suppose to be tech support, but also we just like to help. So...

Take a look at the segmented LED options:

and you can probably put something together that is reasonably close from what's there. The displays with I2C backpacks are the easiest to use. If you wanted to make it more exact - like the 3 separate 2 digit display layout, you could maybe use the 2 digit displays:

but don't mount them on the backpack directly. And you'd need two total backpacks, and on the second just use one display. They are also available raw, if you want to go that route:

but will take a bit more work to interface to a controller.
