VFD Tube leads

Post by gromard »

I just finished soldering the board. I unpacked my tube and noticed that some of the leads have fallen out. This are not the not connected leads either!

Can this be repaired? If not can a replacement be sent?

There is a tiny little blackish red piece of the lead sticking out. I took a wire and set it on that and then checked for continuity with my multimeter between the lead as close to the bulb and the end of the wire. It seems like it could work if I soldered that on.

Should I continue with this repair or get a replacement?

For anyone else reading this thread, I think IV-18 VFD tubes are what you want to search ebay for if adafruit is unable to help you.

Actually perhaps not, the second lead is not as far from the glass as the first.
