Ice Tube: Blinking Display

Just assembled the clock last night. It was working fine, but when i woke up, I noticed that the display was blinking. I went to reset by power cycling and noticed that I have to wiggle the cord and get it in the right position for the clock to power on. Bad power supply? And would that be the cause of the blinking as well?

Sounds like a bad joint on the board where the DC jack is connected. This bit right here:
