Clock display using 32x32 matrix and RPi matrix HAT?

I would like to build a wall clock using the 32x32 LED matrix and the RPi HAT for the same matrix (since it has an RTC in it). Has anyone done such a thing? It'd be nice not to reinvent the wheel and put what I have to quick use.
