Hey Adafruit forums,
I'm building a small circuit for a project I'm working on. I would like it to run off a Lipoly. It will have an ATtiny85 onboard and I wanted to know if a regulator such as the MIC5225 on the trinket is necessary if I uses a MCP73831? Is the regulator, regulating the voltage that goes into the ATtiny85 therefore making it necessary? Did I just answer my own question.
Also I'd really like to express my gratitude for all the services and products you provide. Huge fan! I've entered a new frontier of tinkering. SO A BIG THANK YOU!

The MCP73831 is not a voltage regulator. It's a battery charger. You still need a regulator.
