SMT Production Line for sale, all single phase - OR/WA

Post by digistump »

Since it was here on these forums that we at Digistump originally learned quite a bit about SMT tech and pick and place machines that are small enough for a maker business but big enough for full production, I figured it is fitting if we list our production line we have for sale here, in case any other small business / open source hobbyist / etc is interested. It took us quite a while to research, decide on, and put together this line - unfortunately, due to changes in our company strategy this production line was never put into use. We are now offering it up for sale.

All of the machines are Single Phase and can be run off of normal power. We had planned to have the whole line plugged into a 50A subpanel. The only supply these machines need besides power is clean dry air. We have a large air compressor and filtration system that we would consider selling as well, if interested.

Production Line machines as follows:

Pick and place: SMTMax QM3000 (http://www.smtmax.com/detail.php?id=31) - this machine is a used pull from a prototype line. While SMTMax isn't the biggest SMT company - the design is tried and true and most importantly it uses common parts that are readily available including the Feeders (Phillips brand) and Nozzles (Samsung brand). Has 3 cameras (instead of the standard 2) for large parts with small pads. Comes with a set of brand new nozzles. Includes computer, new cables from the manufacturer, and more. Software runs on windows and is easy to use. SMTMax helped me find the right cables for it, was supportive of me as a second owner, and sells upgrades for it still - including a paste dispenser ($1500 last I checked).

39 Feeders for the pick and place machine as follows - these were purchased at great expense as refurbished feeders:
22x 8x4mm
6x 8x2mm
6x 12mm
2x 16mm
2x 24mm
1x 44mm

Reflow oven: Brand new SMTMax AE-F530C 5 zone lead free reflow oven, runs on a 220V 50A circuit on single phase regular power - very, very few reflow ovens can do this. It is really a re branded Mire brand oven, which is a very big brand, it is belt conveyor style, it has a touch screen, temp sensors, and it is a nice size (about 8ftx3ft).

Stencil Printer: This is the only machine that isn't in excellent or new condition - a Quad AVX400 which were made by SMTECH in the UK in the 90s - these are amazing machines, fully automated, compact, single phase, and they use standard framed stencils. This one was pulled from an assembly line because the computer freezes up - comes with a new modern but compatible computer and a floppy to USB converter to transfer the software - the software runs on DOS. The new computer just needs to be setup and the control cards transferred over. This machine does look well used, and might need some mounting parts for the stencils, depending on how you use it. The great thing about it is PPM (goppm.com) still supports and sells refurbished models of these in the USA, so you can get parts and service for it.

To give an idea of size - all of this fit in a 10x20 building with room for power, soldering bench, shelves, carts, and an air compressor - this is the perfect line for a garage, small shop, shipping container, etc. If you are local to us we might even be able to sell the portable building it is in.

This all cost us about $31k. We're offering it for $25k, and open to offers - (NOW OFFERING IT FOR $20K if it sells before we move it), we are interested in selling it soon as we are moving our facilities. This does not include crating and shipping, but we can load it into a lift gate truck, or with some notice onto a trailer. Anyone on this coast might do best to rent a Penske truck with lift gate. But have a crating company pick it up and ship it is possible and something we've dealt with before - if you took that route we might be willing to share the cost with you against the asking price.

If you're interested please reach out to us at [email protected]

Thanks, and thank you to everyone sharing all the great information in this sub forum.
