I just did this vid on soldering QFNs without hot air - handy on crowded PCBs where hot air would cause collateral damage, and actualy a bit quicker than air once you get the technique down.

there was like 6 cleaning and fluxing steps. intense!

As I say in the video, you can never have too much (fresh) flux!
It really makes a big difference to almost any type of soldering operation.
