New Nice Project ;-) full equip MY9e

Post by alphatronique »

Hi after lot of delay and issue new tow was finally here ;-)

i let you guess what it is , but it 11 x 7 feet and weight 4,000LBS and cost lot of money

so the machine was a quite recent MY9e full equip ,Midas / Hydra / Linescan / DVS and Runing TPsys 2.8
it twin sister whit 1 digit difference on serial number was listed on ebay it come from same production plant that were i buy my
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MyData-Mycronic ... 1454868910
please note i not associated whit this seller ,i only knot that it buy the second machine after i buy the first one ..
and knot that both machine was identical and maintained under contract by mydata until plant closure last July

First some key fact and answer to question i have like to knot before have machine here

1-) power requirement

Mydata manual said Delta connection whit neutral and earth so 5 wire
it even specify neutral to phase and phase to phase voltage as example 215/125V ,if you ask electrician about that it will puzzled and that make me lot of head headache , Delta was 3 wire + safety earth so no neutral ,have investigate the power plug on the machine , NEUTRAL WAS NOT USED
so it plain normal delta

this is how i connect it to plain 2 phase 240V service

240V 40A 2 phase ---> Q1C5ESCF Hammond Transformer ( 240v to 208V) ----> NAPCES PL-10 Pro-Line 10HP Rotary Phase Converter --->Disconect SW --> Machine

2-) Required door opening

absolute minimum was 48" i recommend 50 and up "

you need to remove front and back hood and the Y table module this take ~ 60 minute , table module weight 300-400 LBS so 4 guy need
if you have 48" you need to remove the X motor to ,good luck .....
if you have 50" only need to remove the X motor encoder and the black bell were encoder was fixed ,it take less that 5 minute

3-) moving the machine

one good option was BD3310PW Bond Dolly with Phenolic Wheels Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/111663357886?
ok it overload whit that machine ,but it do the job even if abused

other option was use tread under machine frame for both wheel set ,tread was M9 x 1.25 and top plate was 10.5cm x 8cm i not find supplier for this

4-) if remove the Y table don't leave screw on it hole ,if table move linear encoder will hit the screw top ,learned it hard way

more to come ....

third day ,put back the Y table and finish re-assembly of removed part

have to disassemble for fix linear encoder issue (my fault) ,but before sleep was able to make it run
that incredible fast ,machine was still on it wheel i have great difficulty to move it ,but when running machine move by itself on the floor and quite fast

today we try to assemble the first board ,and setup LAN

update : network work and have make the first test board and it perfect
only need to make to calibrate it

The frame was build whit hi carbon steel and beam was 9" wide whit 3/8 wall thickness so really really rigid build that build for last ...

Dear Alphatronique:

Thank you for your detailed info. We are looking to buy a My9E too. Do you bought PM from Mycronic? Do you have training done in Mycronic? Do you get installation from Mycronic?

Mycornic will not support My9E if you do not ask them to do Installation, PM and training.

Thank you
Timothy

Hi forgot Mycronic it will charge you 10,000$ for order a screw or consumable filter ;-)
that include mandatory diverse training , machine inspection and service pant

have many third party that do support for very reasonable cost (PFI of Florida ,Lewis & Clark and many other )

MY9e when buy in good working condition may place million of part whiteout need any repair

but if you not able to do basic maintenance/repair yourself ,better to buy a new machine whit full support
make thing like me cost 1/10 of the usual price but need to get hand ditty

and of course you may also ship me your production ;-) ,SMT line need lot of volume before start to generate money

Hi, Alphatronique:

Thank you for you quick reply. I am located in Boston area and not far from you. I believe I am qualified for basic maintenance/repair since I have run many CNC machines like Robodrill.

I will ship out my product to you some time in the near future.

Sincerely,
Timothy
