Source of Multimeter-Style banana jacks

by nickjw on Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:56 pm

Hello everyone!

I am looking for some PCB mount shrouded (safety) banana jacks that can stick through a panel from the rear. As in: you solder the jack onto a PCB, then put the pcb behind a panel and the jack sticks through the hole in the panel. Every multi-meter has this type of jack.

I took apart my multi-meters and they all have a swaged tube soldered to a pcb, with a plastic shroud around the tube. But I could not find any part numbers or logos.

Does anyone know where I could find a multi-meter style banana jack that will insert through a panel from the rear?

Whew.. tricky one:

The plugs are called 'sheathed', but the jacks are 'non-mating end insulated'.

The ones Digikey carries are either panel-mount or take a screw at the back, so they aren't exactly like the ones in a multimeter, but it looks like that's as close as they get.
