EX330 multi-meter delivered in non-working condition

Post by GregSwain »

My EX330 multi-meter (https://www.adafruit.com/products/308) was delivered in non-working condition. It appears to have a short directly across the batteries. When properly inserted, the batteries become dangerously hot. My order number is 1402247-1983810663. I was directed here after filing similar complaint with [email protected]. Thanks

To verify, could you post a photo showing the orientation of the batteries in the meter please? 800x600 images usually work best.

Thanks. I don't see anything shorting the clips in the battery case, so the problem is likely inside the meter.

Send a note containing a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement meter.

I received my new multimeter and it is in working order. Thanks!
I did not receive any directions on the preferred method to return the non-working one I received first. What to do?

Don't worry about it. Salvage any parts of it that are still working.
