Clogging using 1.75 PLA in UM2+ Extended

Post by domenick_s »

Hello all, I need help. I am the proud owner of a UM2+ extended and followed the instructions to the letter and I am printing a simple 1" diameter ring which is .5" high.
I was only successful once after that I repeated the same file only to have the .4 nozzle clog half way through the print. I am at my wits end and don't know what to try. I also have a Replicator 1 Dual which I use 1.75 dia filament and I have a lot of it in different flavors. I really would like to use my UM2+ext with the 1.75

Please Help

Hi there,

Looks like the clog might be caused by the printer trying to feed too much material – Do you hear clicking near the end of the print or see noticeable filament grinding?

Try increasing the filament diameter to 2.0mm, this will make the printer extrude less material. Also could try lowing the print speed, 50mm/s is a good base number.
