Hello,
I purchased an Adafruit starter kit a long time ago and the multimeter it came with just started to behave very strangely.
it is a MASTECH MAS830.
I haven't used it in a long time so i threw a new battery in there, and tried to test continuity.
At first i got a brief buzz when the leads were not touching, then i got nothing no matter what i tested, even touching the leads together.
i tried plugging the leads into both inputs.
Resistance and voltage also gave readings that were nowhere close to correct (either high resistance when the leads were touching or no resistance leads were not touching, 9 volt battery no where close to 9v (sorry don't remember what it was)
what is going on here?
thanks,
jon

Re: broken multimeter
It sounds like the meter has failed, which is unusual. Even low-cost ones tend to last for a long time.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the meter is well past our 30-day return/replace period.
