Hakko/ATTEN Concave Soldering Tip

by eduncan911 on Tue Oct 24, 2017 11:22 am

I am having trouble finding a concave/conical(?) for my Atten AT-937 soldering station I recently got from Adafruit. It uses Hakko tips, so I've been on the lookout.

I ordered several Hakko tips from Adafruit and am experimenting with drag-soldering and flux and doing ok. But, I'd like to try this tip.

Would anyone know where to get it?

You can see it in the far LEFT of the picture above.

Thanks!

I just checked the Hakko website:

https://www.hakkousa.com/products/solde ... eries.html

and that doesn't seem to be one they make. They have bevel tips, but none with the concave face.

Does that one have a maker's mark on it anywhere?

Thanks Mike. Yeah I checked there too.

No, I didn't see any markings. I'll contact the author in the blog post to see where they got it.

Cool.. thanks for posting the links.

I personally use a medium hoof tip for SMT work.. more or less like those, but without the dimple in the flat face. Being able to swap between the large surface and the narrow edge along the point is really handy.
