My cheap workbench power supply

by rgm on Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:03 pm

I managed to salvage a Targus APA10 notebook power adapter from the junk bin at my workplace. This adapter has variable voltage output from 15V-24V and can provide 65W. The voltage is determined by whatever tip you put on it, and I've discovered that tip # 4A fits the 2.1mm DC jack on my Adafruit adjustable breadboard power supply! This tip causes the adapter to output 15V, which turns into 14.75V after the MIC2941 on the bbpsup is through with it. The combination makes a convenient selectable 12V, 9V, 5V, or 3.3V source for my projects on the bread board.

Thanks for the bbpsup!
