Solder Blob on Bus Pirate

by john on Thu Apr 15, 2010 1:06 pm

Hi Guys,

I received my order. Thanks for the quick shipping. :D

I was looking at the Bus Pirate and I noticed a big blob of solder at IC3 between the IC and the I/O Header. The solder blob is bridging pins 2 - 5 counting bottom-up. Unless you think this is ok I dare not power up the device.

I attached a "high-quality" cell-phone image

Well if it's not supposed to be there- don't power it up. Grab a soldering iron and some solder wick and that should fix it right up. If you don't feel comfortable doing that- then return it.

Just to make sure - I looked at mine. There is no factory solder blob there - LOL.

excuse the mess - that's a plastic sheet I solder on.

You can email support@adafruit.com - but I'll make sure adabot sees this for you.
