Breadboard Contacts Too Stiff

by dormouss on Mon Jul 29, 2019 10:36 pm

I ordered two large breadboards last week, and attempted to use them this weekend. One worked as expected, but the other has contacts that are so stiff they are almost unusable. If I use a piece of wire (like from a header, for example), and repeatedly insert the wire with a pliers I can sort of get it to work. That is, I can then, with great difficulty, insert a chip or conductor in the contact. The other breadboard works as anticipated. That is, wires and components insert easily and with little force. If both breadboards had been so difficult, I would assume it's the standard. But since it's only the one, I wanted to alert you to it. I'd like to save someone the frustrating hour I spent trying to get my feather headers in the board.

Thanks for letting us know.

Breadboard clips always start off stiff, and gradually become looser as you insert and remove components. It sounds like you got one that was a bit stiffer than usual. I’ll have someone check the ones in stock to see if there are any others.
