Need help with my multimeter

by schauba on Thu Mar 03, 2016 1:51 pm

I received the Ladyada Electronics Toolkit as a Christmas gift. I've used the included multimeter about 6 times and the red probe broke as I put it away earlier this week. It looks like it broke at the connection in the probe sleeve. I've attached a photo to help illustrate.

I know the return policy says I'm out of luck if the packaging is open or I've had possession of the product for more the 30 days, but I was really expecting the multimeter to last longer than a couple months with light use. Is there any way you can send me a new set of probe cables?

Here's my order number 931992-0493452947.

Thanks.

Wow.. I don't recall ever seeing probe cables break before.

Just to check, were the cables subjected to any kind of tension?

No tension. Just taking them out of the box and plugging them in. I always had plenty of slack in the wires when I used them.

Send a note to support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a replacement. Something was obviously wrong with that one.
