othermill vs voltera

by StudioAlbert on Tue Jun 07, 2016 2:53 pm

I would like to go further in my projectx, by doing proper pcb instead of proto/semi-proto boards; and maybe propose pcb production as a commercial offer for digital artists around me.

Si, i'm looking for my own machine and wondering about :

left corner : othermill as pcb milling technique (https://othermachine.co/othermill-pro/)
right corner : voltera as pcb printing technique (http://voltera.io/) ?

What do you think about the machines ( and the commercial opportunity, if you mind) ?
Price is nearly the same, and voltera does not drill...

Additive request : is there a DIY to protect pcb with varnish/paint coating ?

thanks for all you do, bests

I have an Othermill and use it a lot, both for milling PCBs and cutting mechanical parts. Like any machine, it takes some trial and error to get used to it, but once you work out a process, it does good quality work.

I don't know anything about the Voltera, so I can't ethically say anything one way or the other about it.

Hi, thank you for your interest in Voltera! I won't weigh in on your question, since I'm biased, but if you have any questions about the V-One please let me know.
