VC0706 camera not responding

by jijinck on Tue Aug 08, 2017 9:47 am

Order Number : #1480137-772855076
Message : Hi,
We had purchased VC0706 camera and we used Arduino Uno with an SD card
shield. Everything was working fine, until a couple of days back. Two days
back, it gave us an error with the message “camera not found”. We tried
to run it via VC0706comm tool, but whatever we tried it was giving the
error "cmd time out". We've tried to perform a system reset, but since it
was not responding to any serial communication it couldn’t perform it. We
could understand that the camera module was not accepting any requests.
While checking the pins it seems that the RX pin is internally shorted with
GND and the command does not reach the camera controller.
Please advise.

How are you connecting this to the uno? You should have wires or headers soldered to the camera.

We had connected the device with uno using serial interface (RX, TX, VCC and GND), and it was working fine. The wires are currently de-soldered to put the device in the list of damaged goods in inventory section.
