HI,

One more thing that I noticed is when I'm doing AT+CASSISTLOCMODE=1 it is giving me error.

What format do you have set?
According to the datasheet:
When AT+CASSISTLOCFORMAT=2, AT+CASSISTLOCMODE only supports <mode>=0

So you can only use AT+CASSISTLOCMODE=0 when format is set to 2

I really don't know what to tell you. It's having some sort of network problem. I don't know how to solve this.

Hi,
Yes I can understand, I also don't know what to do next for solving this. I will let you know if I get any result. But don't know how I initially got the expected values. It happened after changing the "cassistlocformat" to 1 , so I guess some mistake happened in setting "cassistlocmode". Do you know by default what is the value of "cassistlocmode". Thank you so much for helping me this much

I think you're doing everything right. I can't get it to work, either. According to the datasheet, it uses http://www.google.com/glm/mmap or http://www.google.com/loc/json. If you try to load either of those sites, you get a 404. So that would explain the status of network error.

Seems like google must have changed things, and now CASSISTLOC no longer works.

Hi,
Is there any alternative way like open cellid to find out the location. Instead of using mmap and json. Can we alter the settings in CASSISTLOC.

That would require modifying the firmware. You might be able to figure out whatever the current google API is for doing this, and call it directly. Otherwise, maybe you can contact SimCom and ask how to make this work.

I googled up a SimCom app note from 2015. I don't think it says anything different than what we've already tried
http://www.microchip.ua/simcom/WCDMA/AP ... _V1.10.pdf

I also found a firmware release document from 2013 which mentions fixing a bug that caused CASSISTLOC to fail after 30 seconds with a return code of 4. Maybe they didn't really fix that bug? Also, there's a retry command, AT+CASSISTLOCTRYTIMES=n,m - maybe you need to play with that a bit?
Set retry times.
The first parameter is the number to retry when error occurred. The second parameter is the time between each try, the unit is second, range is 5-3600. Example: AT+CASSISTLOCTRYTIMES=3,10

I found this:
http://simcomm2m.com/service/ask.aspx

Also, look at this. It think we're doing everything right. However, I still think the retry command may be the key.

Also - I forget if you were setting AT+CASSISTLOCMODE=1 or AT+CASSISTLOCMODE=0. Try both

Yes I tried in both ways, AT+CASSISTLOC=1 as well as AT+CASSISTLOC=0. I set AT+CASSISTLOCTRYTIMES=10,10, but not getting the result.
Many times I tried posting the query on the link given but some problem is happening , It is showing a box preservation and suddenly closing it. Not given any confirmation if the complaint is been posted or not. Could you please try to post the query for me.

If it's not working for you, it won't work for me. I don't know what else to tell you. I've gone as far as I can go with this

Hi,

I'm going to try in another way, by triangulation I can find the device location. For that also I need the help of AT commands.
For that I'm using AT+CCINFO command but it returns only OK. According to specs it should return the information regarding serving and neighboring cell. Do I need to reset the module? Kindly help.
