30 LED vs 60 LED

by Tabatha on Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:08 am

Hello!

This is my first adventure with creating anything with LED's and electronics. :) SO of course I decided to start with the FLORAbrella. (I do have help from someone that know what they are doing) However, I ordered what I thought would be 5m of 60 LEDs... my math was just off and I didn't fully understand the 60 vs 30. What I need is 5m of 30.
Do you all do exchanges? or some kind of returns? My apologies for taking this on with out fully understanding :)

Thank you, Tabatha

We do accept returns & exchanges on unused items. You can contact support@adafruit.com with a link to this thread to arrange it.

ps. if I need 5m of 30 LED, how many do I order?

If its "eight segments, each having 20 individual NeoPixels", wouldn't that be a total of 160 individual NeoPixels?
If I order 5 m, would that only give me 150 individual NeoPixels?

How does that math work?
I'd like to make sure I understand correctly. I have tried to do as much research to figure it out on my own, but I think something may be getting lost in translation. :)

This is the 30 pixel-per-meter strip used in the Florabrella project: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1376
The price listed is for 1 meter (30 pixels). If you order 5 of these, you will get a reel with a single 5-meter length of strip (150 pixels total). That can be cut in to strips of the desired length to fit your umbrella.
