no batch file found in zip file for SDR-install

by Chessplayer679 on Thu Sep 07, 2017 8:50 am

Hi, new to this stuff.
I just order the Software Defined Radio Receiver USB Stick - RTL2832 w/R820T, and proceeded to download software, but my zip file extract does not show a batch file in it. Is there another download for this item?
Thank you

Which software are you downloading and installing?

Hello, I am using SDR-sharp2014, zip file. It displays on the home page for the RTL-STR antenna to use REV 1243 but when you press on that download link it just sits there motionless.

I am using Windows 7. And if that is the problem, which i wondered, then I probably need to download an early version of Zadag, or get an upgrade. Of course, I shouldn't have assumed that Adafruit would have had the integrity to mentioned that their Rtl2832 only works with an operating system of Windows 8 or higher for their Zadig download to their potential buyers.

Have you tried downloading the latest software from the software makers sites?

I appreciate your help, thank you. After many attempts, nothing will work; there is no way that the driver for the usb device is appearing in the driver box, and I read for hours about different ways to manually try to make the driver appear next to the green arrow to link it with the usb internet face, I tried internet accessories for mgng control to change the WfdCoinstaller inf. files, I have tried uninstalling my USB hubs, and a newer version of Zadig is a prospect even more un-flattering and suspect, for my windows 7. Thus, I am just throwing this junk in the garbage, wasted too much time on it, with no drivers that can be found by any of the zadig device interface settings. The device that SDR offers looks like it's a better designed product. I'm more upset that I fell for this particular trinket, and I hope others don't have to lose their valuable time with such a slipshod product that is completely-un-user friendly!
Thank you for your time again.

hiya you dont need to run the batch file if its not there, thats just from the version when we made the software. before you start you *do* need to get the drivers working
what *does* show up in device manager?
