Failed to start FT232 in I2C

by pteng on Wed Sep 20, 2017 6:55 pm

I am not able to running the following py code in finding ft232 device.
Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
import Adafruit_GPIO.FT232H as FT232H
FT232H.use_FT232H()
ft232h = FT232H.FT232H()

Last line above will end up with the following message.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "I2C Device Enumeration.py", line 7, in <module>
ft232h = FT232H.FT232H()
File "build\bdist.win32\egg\Adafruit_GPIO\FT232H.py", line 150, in __init__
File "build\bdist.win32\egg\Adafruit_GPIO\FT232H.py", line 204, in _check
RuntimeError: ftdi_usb_open failed with error -3: device not found

I hope that this is some setup issue, in my Windows 7 environment. But exact procedure is followed per https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ft2 ... t/overview
32 bit package is used.

Yes, what found in https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ft2 ... dows-setup, are exactly followed. Win32 is used, as Win64 failed.

If there is no other way, please let me know how to clean uninstall everything, and reinstall everything again.
I tried to reinstall python, but it did not help.
