Are these NXP made NFC tags?

by vharikrishna on Wed Sep 27, 2017 8:29 pm

Hi All,

I recently purchased the 13.56MHz RFID/NFC tag assortment (https://www.adafruit.com/product/365).

I am wondering if these tags are made by NXP? i.e are these MiFare tags? OR nTag or ICODE tags?

Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

These use a ISO/IEC 14443 Type A chipset, which used to be the 'classic' NFC chipset. In ~2014, the NFC forum decided not to support this chipset anymore,

Thanks @franklin97355 for the info. I am aware of the chipset being used. My question was "Are these tags manufactured by the company NXP?"

Any idea? Thanks.

There is no way to absolutely be sure they are made by NXP (there's no markings) but they are definitely NXP Mifare *compatible* and work exactly as MiFare's do :)

Got it. The reason i was asking was because i have set up NXP's TapLinx (formerly called MiFare SDK) for developing some cool applications with the tags i have purchased.

Those tags will arrive tomorrow. So, i hope, i can start developing as soon as they arrive.

Thanks @franklin97355.
