When to use OTG and when not to

by pheller on Sat Dec 30, 2017 4:38 pm

Just purchased my first Pi, a zero W, and I'm a total newbie. As I read about the mini USB port (who uses 'mini'?) I'm confused about when to use an OTG cable and when to use a straight USB cable. I see references to OTG for keyboards and flash drives, but how can I more generally know when to use it and when NOT to use it? Thanks for your help.
