I am so sorry but I can not find my way around here. I have three LCD's I had four but last night I burned out one UNO and one LCD.
The Ada fruit said I only needed to use 7 pins.
It told me where to put the wires but it did not tell me what the pin names and numbers were of the 16 pins on the LCD.

only 4RS. 6E. 11D4. 12D5. 13D6. 14D7. 16GND. RW was not used but which pin was RW?
my pins are numbered 1 to 16 so if just numbers were used, I would not have been confused and I would not have lost Com port 2 on my Computer.
Yes I am a beginner and with two house move in 8 months since I first logged on. All internet problems and PC Problems have taken a back seat.
I did the first soldering last night. That is why I am here I can see my faults in the soldering department that is not a problem but confusion with changing code to fit into
Adafruits LCD basic has got me wondering are my LCD's wired back to front or left to right ?
I will always be a beginner unless some one tells me the 1 to 16 and the names please.
