Wired power and battery power

by dcastator on Mon May 26, 2014 4:58 pm

I built a wireless BT foot pedal using the EZ key BT HID keyboard. I want to modify the unit to utilize a lithium battery pack. I also want to utilize a 5V switching power supply when I need to charge the lithium battery. While charging the battery I also want to be able to use the unit and power it by the 5v switching power supply. In doing so would I be sending more than 5v to the EZ-Key board? (5V from the switching power supply & what every power is in the lithium battery)? Or does the battery disconnect while charging? I just want the option to use the pedal on battery power or while plugged in.

Any assistance you can give your be greatly appreciated.

You could use any of our LiPo chargers. These two allow you to connect the load in parallel with the battery, so the EZ-Key will see the same voltage as the battery at all times.

This charger has a load-sharing circuit that diverts power directly to the load when a power supply is connected. With a 5v supply, the EZ-Key would see 5v when the battery was charging.

Any of the above would work with the EZ-Key
