by dkoch7575 on Mon Jan 18, 2016 12:39 pm

Adafruit Audio FX Sound Board product 2133
my first test with the sound board was very loud. Then i soldered the wires to the board secured it to the box and now the volume is very low I can hardly hear it . I tried to reload the audio files , i tried grounding the vol + pin and the reset pin. I do not know if reset took place because the all .ogg files were still there. project remote control hockey goal sound and light

The sound card does not produce an amplified signal. Your problem is probably with your amplifier

Your computer speaker probably has an amplifier built-in. Possibly, that's what has failed.

Do you have some earbuds you can plug into the sound board? That should tell you if it's still working correctly.

If you need an amp, we have several in the store. You would use these with bare speakers, not with your computer speaker.

So you know, 20W is a LOT. I don't know what your application is, but you may not need a 20W amp.
