Re: Need your help
How do you have the cam connected and powered? I'll see if anyone has an idea of what may be wrong.

Re: Need your help
We do not know the internals of this device. It was developed by a team from CMU. They have a forum specifically for supporting these cameras.
You should post this question on the hardware section of the forum: http://www.cmucam.org/projects/cmucam5/boards/8
The engineers there can help diagnose the problem.

Re: Need your help
Hi everyone,
I hope I am posting this in the right place. I was looking at this https://www.adafruit.com/products/1948 and my question is can this work with the PI? I already own one so I hope I can use it with this.
Thanks,
Michael

Yes, you can run LPD8806 strips from the Pi:

Re: Need your help
I know I basically posted a question but it was more of what I wanted done and with blue tooth
Hi all,
I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place.
I found this https://learn.adafruit.com/bluetooth-neopixel-goggles
I want to do it with RBGW strips. I am hoping I can use the ones I got from Amazon (use what I already bought) I want to use a PI or Arduino.
I did see this https://www.adafruit.com/products/1376 so I thought less wires and mess.
I want it so I can make it do anything I throw at it or almost :)
I am trying to put something cool on my power chair so it will be ran from a battery (not from the chair's battery) Can this be done and what is needed Arduino or PI (I have a pi) I would like to make this small as possible to fit in a tuber ware or some other type of holder to hold the nasty's out AKA rain or dirt.
I would like to use a PI since I have one but I can use an Arduino
Thanks

Re: Need your help
The strip you linked is not an RGBW strip. It is an RGB strip with a white flex PCB. The RGBW strips are here:
https://www.adafruit.com/products/1376?q=rgbw%20strip&
These can be controlled with a Pi https://learn.adafruit.com/neopixels-on ... i/overview
But are easiest to control with an Arduino: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-neopixel-uberguide

Re: Need your help
There are many ways to do it. For a battery powered project, the simplest solution is to use a 3.3v processor like the Feather and power everything from a LiPo battery.
https://www.adafruit.com/products/2771
LiPo cells can be plugged directly into the Feather which has a built-in charger also. Pick a cell with the capacity(mAh) that gives you the run-time you want.
(estimate about 20-30mA/pixel times the number of hours of run-time)
https://www.adafruit.com/categories/138
You can use any I/O pin from the Feather to control the strip.
This guide describes how to connect things: https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-neopixel-uberguide
