Knock Lock project solenoide variation

Post by Riccardocasciotti »

I would like to know if in the knock lock project (which uses a trinket mini 5V) I can replace the solenoide used (12V) with a small size solenoide https://www.adafruit.com/products/412 ; if that is possible I also would like to know if I can skip the 12 V transformer power supply and simply use the power coming out the Trinket.

That should be possible.

The trinket regulator cannot power the solenoid. If you have a 5v power source, you can use that to power the solenoid directly - as well as the Trinket.
