RFID Tag

by igrusecki on Fri May 06, 2016 8:31 am

Good morning!

Is there anyway to program my Pi so that I can scan for all RFIDs in the area (instead of inputting a RFID tag number one at a time)?

Thanks

What are you using to read the tags? To start the tags have to be in range (several inches) and the hardware can only read maybe two tags at once without getting the data confused.

I should clarify myself. I am using the Adafruit RFID tag reader to keep inventory of various products. Is it possible to send multiple signals at once or must I input it one at a time?

How are you planning to send the signals? You can write code to read a tag and then read again but what you do with the information and how you determine if a tag is a repeat or a new tag is up to your program.

I have a Python program that utilizes the built in RFID board to send out a signal via an antenna. I simply want to use the RFID tag scanner to check how many RFID tagged equipment is within my (reasonable) radius.
