Adafruit-RGB-LCD malfunctioning

by cbosen on Tue Feb 13, 2018 1:31 pm

Hi,

I bought, assembled and tested the Adafruit-RGB-LCD-Shield PN#772. I uploaded several programs to the Arduino UNO and I didn't have an issues interfacing with the RGB-LCD shield--until this morning that is.

Not sure what the problem but as of now, the RGB-LCD seems to be "kinda working". Ie, uploading the Hello World sketch result the LCD displaying "dello" instead of "Hello World" and time to time, the colors will cycle randomly--also the buttons sometimes would respond.

Aside from a probably bad solder connection--which I have not been able to find, is there another way to test the RGB-LCD-Shield? I wonder if the Chip is bad--I tested the Arduino UNO, and it seems to be working fine.

THX for any info.

If you post some clear photos showing your soldering on the front & back of the shield we can take a look.
