3.5" tft display blinking . . . help?

by itsmeatlast on Fri Feb 26, 2021 2:33 pm

I've had a 3.5 inch tft touchscreen display (2441, I think) working as a part of an rPi-powered internet radio for about 2 1/2 years. It's just developed a problem: about every 2 seconds it goes black, then returns to what it was displaying. This is way past aggravating.
I have changed the rPi and the software -- the trouble stays with the display. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this or what I can do to resolve it? I suppose that after 30 months of use it's way out of warranty . . .

@itsmeatlast,

Has anything changed around the power supply as that would be the most likely source of blink.

Are you able to power it up without sending any data?

This model does have a ribbon connector so you will want to confirm that is still fully inserted.

You are well outside our 30-day warranty.
