Hi
I am looking to buy RGB Hat for Raspberry Pi (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2345) to control and power LED matrix (https://www.adafruit.com/product/2278)
I am unclear on the power requirements for multiple panels. Documentation for the Hat says "A 5V power supply is also required, not included, for powering the matrix itself. ... To calculate the max current of your matrix set up, multiply the width of all the chained matrix by 0.12 : A 32 pixel wide matrix needs 32*0.12 = 3.85A".
So, if I want to use one 64x32 matrix I would need a 5V 4A power supply.
What if I wanted to use two for a total of 64x64 pixels? Or four for 64x128 total pixels? Do I need a 5V 8A and 5V 16A power supplies respectively? Would the Hat be able to handle and distribute this load? What wires do I need to bring power to all 4 panels?
Thank you

Re: RGB HAT for Raspberry Pi and power
There are some maximums mentioned in the Testing the Examples section.
You might get a little more out of the RGB Matrix Bonnet vs RGB Matrix Hat. Another setup to consider would be our Multiple Panels guide based on the MatrixPortal where it is quite intuitive to run power to each panel.

https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-rgb ... 2982010-30Specifies the number of rows (or height or the number of pixels vertically) of your LED matrix (or matrices, if you have several chained…they all need to be the same size though). Default value if unspecified is 32. Maximum value with the Adafruit RGB Matrix HAT + RTC is 32. Maximum with the RGB Matrix Bonnet is 64.
