Is there any way to use the 128x128 1.44 display with rpi?

I've been looking around for a few hours, but most threads are at this point obsolete since 5.4 with the removal of fbtft_device. But even before that, 1.44 is not listed as a supported screen on the fbtft wiki. I did however hear some talk that you can hack the 1.8 fbtft driver into working? not sure of the veracity of that claim. but yeah, the wiring is fine and the backlight shows, I just can't get the console to display on the screen. I'm using rpi lite, not trying to use the gui I just want to get the console working on the screen (for now). another kind of hacky solution I've been looking into is getting the rpi to communicate with an arduino in order to drive the screen- tho I'm sure that would only complicate things further. Anyway, I'm lost. send help! thanks :)

hmm I did see that, but I was hoping to set it up to display the console. Though I suppose I can live without that and just ssh in when I need to. thanks for pointing this out!
