Greetings!

So far I have no experience with Adafruit products but I'm rather interested in the 60LED Rings. In particular, I'm curious if one full ring is able to replace a ~7W LED light bulb when it comes to lighting an entire room (roughly 4 by 4 meters).
Could someone possibly provide a video, especially a comparison perhaps between the two. I suppose I'd have to disperse the light to make it usable.

At full intensity white, a 60 pixel ring will draw about 15 watts. But the pixels are not quite as efficient as the emitters used in light-bulbs, since they are not optimized for that purpose. You can expect about 8-10 lumens per pixel. Or 480-600 lumens for the whole ring. That is roughly comparable to a 7W LED bulb.

The pixels output approximates a Lambertian emitter. So the intensity at 45 degrees off center will be about 70% of straight ahead. From there it will decrease to 0% at 90 degrees to the side.

@tepalia02 specifically https://www.adafruit.com/product/2873 this. But the LEDs are the same I suppose, RGB would be just for fun.

I like the graph there, and in reality, that seems kinda cool considering that we usually don't need to light up the ceiling per se. It would perhaps look weird tho. Might be an idea to combine a light bulb and a ring.
