It is mentioned here that

How can I determine if I got one of these updates versions, when buying? I'd like to buy one in Europe, but would like to be sure I grab a HUB75E compatible one.

It's 4 years later so you're pretty certain to get one of the new versions.

If you look at the board at https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/970x728/2345-10.jpg You'll see mention of "E" on the silk screen. next to the camera cable opening you'll see 3 pads labelled 8, E, 16 (top to bottom) and just below GPIO 24 on the GPIO breakout pads you'll see an "E" pad. Compare with the older version here: https://learn.adafruit.com/assets/22489.
