HX8357D touchscreen on Teensy 3.2

I bought this display https://www.adafruit.com/products/2050 and I am now trying to get it to work with a Teensy 3.2. I have been successful using this on the Mega2560 using the SPI connections and the touchscreen. I moved it over to the teensy and modified the pin assignments to map correctly to the Teensy. I am able to get the graphics to display on screen, however, I am unable to get the touchscreen to work. I have tried several of the TouchScreen libraries, the one provided here and the version from PJRC, using either library, I am unable to get the touchscreen to work. I am able to do an analog read on the pins connected to X- and Y+, however I can only read a few values before the values lock up and hold steady. Does anyone have any information on how to get the touchscreen to work on a Teensy?
