Hi All,
Maybe easy question, but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm running the RGB LED Matrix Hat on a Raspberry Pi 3. I followed the tutorial on the "Adafruit RGB Matrix + Real Time Clock HAT for Raspberry Pi" page and have successfully reached all the way to the python example code part. I'm able to get the examples above that (like -D0 and -D1) to work just fine using "sudo ./led-matrix -r 32 -c 2 -t 10 -D0". But when I try to run python code examples with "python matrixtest.py" I get the following error
can't open /dev/mem: : Permission denied
Attempt to init outputs but initialized.
Result: 0x0 v 0xCF33070
python: framebuffer.cc:97: static void rgb_matrix: :RGBMatrix::Framebuffer::InitG
PI0(rgb_matrix::GPIO*): Assertion 'result == b.raw' failed.
Aborted
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Am I executing the python code incorrectly? I'm somewhat new to this

Eureka! Thanks, that worked. For some reason other documentation found online didn't suggest that....
