LCD appears to be missing some things.

I bought a 2X16 RGB backlit LCD awhile back. The backlight works, but the LCD doesn't display anything. I think it is missing some components.

No components appear to be missing. How are you driving the display? What microcontroller? What software? How is it wired?

I tried driving it with an aurduino uno, but that doesn't work.

Were you using the Arduino LiquidCrystal library? Did you follow the wiring instructions in the tutorial? Can you post some pictures of your wiring?
Which example sketch did you use?
Did you see anything at all on the display? Did you adjust the contrast? Do you see boxes on the display? Can you post a picture of what you see on the display?
