128x64 PiOLED?

by dchang0 on Thu Jun 08, 2017 2:51 am

I love the design of the 128x32 PiOLED.

But 4 lines of text isn't much. I'd love to see a 128x64 PiOLED, preferably in color, but monochrome is good enough.
It should still be possible to fit the 128x64 over a Pi Zero, though it would be a tight fit.

I figure the display would have to be moved a few mm closer to the camera connector end to allow post holes at both the upper left and bottom left corner (current design is just at the upper left corner).

Please consider making one--thanks!

Very cool. and I do like the fact that it has buttons and a thumbstick.

I figured out how to get the Adafruit 128x64 OLED Bonnet working with the ODROID C1+ running Ubuntu 16.04 minimal.
It requires Luma.OLED's SSD1306 driver to drive the display:

https://github.com/rm-hull/luma.oled

And it requires HardKernel's ODROID port of WiringPi2 for Python.

https://github.com/hardkernel/WiringPi2-Python

The pin numbers after using .wiringPiSetup() are:

L = 2
R = 4
U = 0
D = 3
C = 7
A = 21
B = 22

I don't know why these pin numbers don't match what Adafruit designates in:

https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit_Py ... buttons.py

But the above is what works.

Thanks, Adafruit for making this awesome bonnet. For a project, I needed a small OLED display with compact pushbuttons and a joystick for a handheld LIDAR scanner, and no hat or bonnet or the 3.2 TFT display with 3 buttons could cut it. This bonnet would have worked, although a color OLED would really have helped draw the LIDAR scan.
