Changing lcd driver to get audio for my 10.1" lcd

Hi Adafruit,
Im building a retropie arcade cab with a rpi3.

I recently bought this 10.1" Hdmi display from you.
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1287

My Plan was to use the rpi3 audio jack with an amp + 2 speakers
But i realised the rpi3 audio jack have a really poor sound quality.
When the Rpi3 is connected to my tv with hdmi (so with hdmi sound) the sound quality is great.

So i realised too late i should have bought the one with audio.
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1694
Because i suppose the audio output would be much better in hdmi with my speakers amplified by the blue 1694 driver with audio directly.

So i guess my question is could i just replace my 1287 green driver with no audio with the blue driver with audio from 1694 ?
Since both display seems to be the same :
(both product pages indicate the display is a HSD101PWW1 display, or equivalent).

Could i just buy the 1694 driver (blue one with audio) + speaker cables from you without the display ?
Can i just unplugged the green driver (no audio) from 1287 and plug the blue one from 1694 in my 1287 display and get hdmi audio support ?

If possible that would be cool.
I considered other retropie arcade audio solution as well like usb dongles, HDMI audio extractors, HIFIBERRY AMP+ etc
My conclusion is using the rpi3 hdmi audio is probably the best option since the usb and 3.5mm jack seems to be not so great and require an extra amp for the speakers. Being able to do rpi3 > hdmi > lcd driver > speakers could hopefully get rid of the hissing noise and make a nice all hdmi setup with no need for usb dongles, extractors or rpi shield. Don't you think ?

So if unplugging the green no audio driver and switching it for the blue one with audio is doable (is it ?)...
Then can you sell me the blue driver from 1694 along with the cables for connecting the speakers ?

Hope this make sense :)
Thanks you very much.

Everything works great so far.

But...
You can see the cheap amp and the 2 speakers connected to the rpi3 audio jack
The sound is really not that great, major hissing noise when no sound is played.
The poor amp quality + poor rpi3 audio jack quality are the problem

That's why i hope getting rid of the cheap amp and getting a driver with hdmi audio directly connected to the speakers for the display may be the solution...

Unfortunately, we don't have the controller board available separately.

I don't know if it will work for you, but you may be able to use one of these:

Thanks for the quick reply,
Too bad you won't sell the driver separately...
I'll consider your suggestion for the Stereo Speaker Bonnet...

But regarding my question, is changing a HSD101PWW1 display driver doable ?
Im not familiar with that type of connector i mean the display to driver metal plug, (LVDS?)...
Can you unplug it with the right tool or by hand or is it "factory plugged/sealed" and risky to do ?
(sorry if the question is dumb i don't know much about displays and drivers)

Maybe i can get my hands on the driver myself ? Like ordering from china ?
1694 driver datasheet https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/PCB800116.pdf
is in "chinese" but i can read PCB-800116 and TYT20130612 and also http://www.tflcdcn.com
So i found thishttp://www.tftlcdcn.com/DownloadShow.asp?ID=230

There should be a couple of black tabs on either side of the connector. Just pull them out a bit to release the cable.

Honestly, I don't know if you can buy the driver board separately. I don't know anything about that Chinese site.

It's our policy not to share information about our suppliers.
