Pixel Qi-PCB ribbon connector?

by gargebl on Sat Jun 17, 2017 11:12 pm

The discontinued Pixel Qi 10" Display is listed here:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1303
It consisted of a screen, a controller, an AC charger, a keypad and two cable bundles with connectors.

I am trying to wire up the display, but was unfortunately a little late to the party, and have not yet been successful. At the present moment all I have are the Pixel Qi 10" screen and the PCB800099 controller. I haven't been able to connect the two together, as the ribbon socket behind the screen is quite unique, and no such connector has showed up anywhere online. It couldn't have been made for the Pixel Qi specially by Adafruit, as this display has been used in many other applications. But there is also nothing about them in the documentation...

What kind of cables and connectors did you use in the Pixel Qi kit? How may I acquire those cables now that it has been discontinued?

its been quite a while and we dont stock it at all anymore. the cables are often called 'lvds ipex' cables - that may help finding them!
