Hi,
I have an Adafruit 3.5" TFT screen that I am using with the Pi Zero W to play video, however the playback is really bad. The refresh rate is very low and there is a lot of lag. I have attached a video of the problem (https://youtu.be/c9cC7cEnxR8) , even though it's on another screen that I purchased for comparison. I am using mplayer to play the videos.
Is there any way to get smoother playback? I checked the 3.5" setup tutorial (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... ing-videos) and the playing video section of it actually refers to the 2.8" screen. I don't know why that is the case but since it's there I would assume the 3.5" screen can play videos without any problems. That however doesn't seem to be the case.
I have also tried installing fbcp and using omxplayer but there is no improvement. I have also resized the videos to the required screen dimensions.
Poor video playback on PiTFT 3.5"

Re: Poor video playback on PiTFT 3.5"
yah the 3.5" TFT is not good for video playback - the screen is too big and uses SPI which is not super fast! try the Pi Display 7" for fast video :)
