Have two numeric displays with I2c backpacks on the way, what I am wondering is if I can hang a I2c eeprom on the I2c buss and use the backpack driver to access it? I have a few 24C256 eeproms on order but not sure if it will be compatible with the backpack chip. Wouldn't be against using a different eeprom if the 24C256 simply will not work. If it matters I will be using a Teensy 2.0 with the Arduino libraries.
Thanks

I don't know what you mean about using the backpack driver to access the eeprom. You'll need a separate driver for the eeprom.
However, as long as the I2C addresses don't conflict, you'll be able to use the eeprom on the same I2C bus as the display

Re: I2c eeprom with Adafruit numeric display
Sorry, should have said "Library" instead of "Driver". Just discovered the Teensy has a 1024 byte eeprom built in and will not need the external eeprom. Sorry to have bothered with what ended up being an irrelevant question.
