cwaa - please start a new thread and take nice clear photos of top and bottom of the TFT, your photo is very blurry!

The only camera I own is my phone. Also I started a new thread last week and it was never answered. ( PiTFT 2.8" 320X240 +touch )What should I title it this time?

Hi!

First of all, thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

I'm having trouble making a resistive piTFT 2.8'' work. I'm using a raspberry pi 2 (model B) for testing purposes.

I've followed all the suggested solutions on the thread and I just can't seem to make my screen work. Both the touch screen and the TFT panel seem to be totally unresponsive. The kernel does recognize the TFT (since it paints the screen black) but other than that, there is no apparent response. I've run the script about a dozen times using the latest Raspbian version and I have also tried with the older 'set and forget' Raspbian images which are supposed to work right away after flashing the microSD card

I've executed all the commands suggested by other fellow users and tried both text console and HDMI mirror modes. I also checked the back for any electrical faults which might have resulted from moving or manipulating the piTFT, but they look just fine to me.

It's not that I'm desperate, since I can always buy another one. But I've run out of ideas so far and there's a bachelor thesis requiring this nice little TFT. Any advice from this point?
Thank you again for your time,

alferbus

if the screen fills with black, its being recognized. please start with a fresh version of the latest Raspbian and select CONSOLE ON PITFT only, *not* HDMI Mirror

Hello again,

Just hit the console only mode option on a fresh raspbian Stretch install (latest version), and still can't make it work. A grill of very tiny white dots has appeared though. I can perfectly ssh into the raspberry. It really puzzles me, as I have tried all workarounds suggested by other fellow piTFT users.

try changing the frequency in /boot/config.txt to like 16000000 (16mhz)?

hi,

just tried tweaking the speed setting and still get the same result.
here's my boot.txt file for reference:

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
# For more options and information see
# http://rpf.io/configtxt
# Some settings may impact device functionality. See link above for details

# uncomment if you get no picture on HDMI for a default "safe" mode
#hdmi_safe=1

# uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible
# and your display can output without overscan
disable_overscan=0

# uncomment the following to adjust overscan. Use positive numbers if console
# goes off screen, and negative if there is too much border
#overscan_left=16
#overscan_right=16
#overscan_top=16
#overscan_bottom=16

# uncomment to force a console size. By default it will be display's size minus
# overscan.
#framebuffer_width=1280
#framebuffer_height=720

# uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output
hdmi_force_hotplug=0

# uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
#hdmi_group=1
#hdmi_mode=1

# uncomment to force a HDMI mode rather than DVI. This can make audio work in
# DMT (computer monitor) modes
#hdmi_drive=2

# uncomment to increase signal to HDMI, if you have interference, blanking, or
# no display
#config_hdmi_boost=4

# uncomment for composite PAL
#sdtv_mode=2

#uncomment to overclock the arm. 700 MHz is the default.
#arm_freq=800

# Uncomment some or all of these to enable the optional hardware interfaces
#dtparam=i2c_arm=on
#dtparam=i2s=on
dtparam=spi=on

# Uncomment this to enable the lirc-rpi module
#dtoverlay=lirc-rpi

# Additional overlays and parameters are documented /boot/overlays/README

# Enable audio (loads snd_bcm2835)

try posting a clear photo of the bottom of the piTFT removed from the Pi, so we can see if this is an issue
