Wall/brick inverter for EL wire

by HollyD1970 on Fri Oct 06, 2017 3:40 pm

Hello! I'm looking to add some EL wire to wall decor, so it'd be a fixed setup, with longer glow time desire than wearables. As such, a battery-based inverter is out. I see this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/448 but the description is a little sparse for a casual user like myself, where it says "you can just plug it into a 12V wall adapter." I'm seeing some bare/unterminated wires there... what needs to be added/soldered/whatevered to that end, in order to ultimately plug this thing into the wall? :)

Thanks!

You can use an adapter like this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/368
To connect the bare wires from the inverter to a power supply like this: https://www.adafruit.com/product/798
