Ambient lighting max. LEDs support

by sofos1990 on Thu Nov 09, 2017 8:30 pm

I'm looking forward to buy the Adafruit Neopixel 144 LEDs/m (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1507) strips to build an ambient lighting setup for my 34'' ultrawide monitor.
I recently found out that it might not worth the effort since there will be too many LEDs and different issues might come up but I want to try it. If it won't work I will go with the 60 LEDs/m strips.
My issue is that I can't find any software to support the amount of the LEDs I want. Horizontally it will be 112 LEDs and vertically 46 LEDs. Prismatik software only allows up to 99 horizontally, Ambibox goes by the total amount of LEDs and the maximum is 300 but for my case I need around 330 to be safe in case I fit any more.
How can I lift these limitations? Obviously there's an Ambibox version which allows up to 400 LEDs but it's kind of impossible to find it.
Thanks in advance!

I was trying to avoid processing since it requires more CPU power/resources than all the other solutions but I see no other way :(
Hopefully it works out!
Thank you!!
